Working intuitively with artists
Jeffrey Gibson
US Pavilion 2024, Venice Biennale of Art
Responding to the artist’s practice and concept for the 2024 US Pavilion presentation at the world’s longest-running art festival, we produced a set of films that featured live performances from US Indigenous dancers and singers, with drone capture, multi-cam shoots and participant GoPro footage.
Commissioned by Resnicow and Associates, Shore Art Advisory, Portland Art Museum and Site Santa Fe.

“Wow! I love the films so much. Beautiful.”

Our work at the Venice Biennale
La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale) was founded in 1895 and is now one of the most significant cultural events in the world. Its annually alternating contemporary art and architecture events consist of national pavilion exhibitions – each with its own curator and project; an international art exhibition; and collateral events around the city. In recent years, the Venice Biennale of Art has attracted up to 800,000 visitors per year.
For the past 15 years, Cultureshock has created films documenting the Venice Biennales of art and architecture for clients such as Sotheby’s, the British Council and Hyundai Artlab. These films have covered artist interviews, exhibition walk-throughs, filmed performances and short-form social content.
